In honor of World Environment Day on June 5, regional government officials in Gossas, Senegal invited local organizations working on environmental issues to show photo exhibits of their work at the Gossas City Hall. CREATE!’s Senegal team proudly displayed photos of our environmental programs implemented for the benefit of local communities thanks to the assistance and participation of beneficiaries.

CREATE!’s Senegal Country Representative, Omar Ndiaye Seck, says, “World Environment Day was a great success and the Deputy Governor of Fatick and the Prefect of Gossas commended the excellent work of CREATE!

 

CREATE! staff displayed pictures of our environmental programs, including: training in fuel-efficient cookstove construction; planting trees for food, living fences, and local reforestation; and improving soil health by reinforcing skills and knowledge in crop rotation and sustainable garden practices.

The president of the Gossas County Council presented CREATE! staff and the Diender cooperative group with an honorary diploma in appreciation of CREATE!’s efforts to improve the local environment.
