Congratulations to our colleague Codou Gadji! After working for two years with CREATE! as an agricultural trainee, Codou has now been promoted to the position of Field Technician! Her hard work and dedication to CREATE!’s mission help our beneficiaries in Senegal succeed. As a woman in a professional leadership position, Codou is a role model for our female beneficiaries, who look to her for advice and guidance.

Codou trains community members in year-round, sustainable crop cultivation and improved cookstove construction. She also assists with Voluntary Savings and Lending Association (VSLA) trainings and helps women develop their poultry cooperatives. She loves her work and says, “With CREATE!, I have learned that you can fight back against poverty and food insecurity. My objectives are to fight poverty by helping others and to create employment opportunities for young people.”

After three years of training, Codou received her diploma in Horticulture from the Professional Horticulture Training Center in Camberene, Senegal. Her father, an agricultural engineer, inspired Codou to pursue a career in agricultural training.
